The estate extends over about ten hectares of vineyards, located in Rionero in Vulture and Melfi, which grapes are double cordon spur pruned.

The main variety is obviously Aglianico del Vulture, planted in three plots: in addition to the four Vigneto Gelsi (Gelsi Vineyard) hectares surrounding the winery, planted in 2004, there are three more hectares of the Vigneto Ferrovia (Railway Vineyard) planted in 2005, while on the slope facing Melfi there is the 40-year-old hectare of the Vigneto Calaturi (Calaturi Vineyard) which is on a hillock a few kilometers from the winery.

Last but not least, two hectares dedicated to Malvasia, the white grape variety that traditionally grows in the area. The altimetry is significant, on average the winery’s vineyards, planted on different soils from area to area, are pretty high (between 400 and 600 meters above sea level).

As far as climate conditions are concerned, the rainfalls are irrelevant but there is a large temperature variation, with cool nights in summer and very cold nights in winter. Snowfall is fairly regular in January and February. All this excellently fosters our production.
